Program Description


The mission of Junior Leadership Pulaski County (JrLPC) is to inspire the next generation to be community influencers by becoming their best selves now.


Program Goals

  • To encourage students to realize their own potential and develop their leadership skills.
  • To develop young leaders who will be challenged to apply their new skills through interactions with community leaders, decision makers, and peers from other schools in the area.
  • To create an environment that nurtures potential young leaders to participate in school/community service and volunteerism.
  • To increase personal and community awareness.

The 2024-2025 Junior Leadership Pulaski County Class will meet once per month from October 2024 to April 2025. Each session is four hours on Saturday and will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Attendance is required for all sessions to remain eligible for graduation.

Tuition for each participant of Junior Leadership Pulaski County is $25. Upon notification of being accepted into the Junior Leadership Pulaski Program the participant will be invoiced for the tuition. Tuition must be paid by July 5, 2024.

Eligibility & Selection Process

Junior Leadership Pulaski County program participants are selected from applications submitted to the selection committee based on merits through a highly competitive admissions process. Participants are expected to have established careers, demonstrate talent and leadership qualities, and participate in community activities. All participants must also demonstrate a personal commitment to serving the community, show potential for a significant role in the community in the future, and a willingness to commit the time and energy necessary to complete the program. The sponsoring organization or business must also fully support participation in Leadership Pulaski County.

Individuals from any high school in Pulaski County are eligible to be nominated. Students must be a sophomore or junior (ages 15-17) in high school during the 2024-2025 school year. The number of participants in each Junior Leadership Pulaski County class is limited. Applications not selected for the current program are strongly encouraged to reapply.

October 19, 2024: Leadership with True Colors, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
November 16, 2024: Let's Talk About Finance, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
January 25, 2025: Health & Fitness, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
February 15, 2025: Safety Savviness, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
March 29, 2025: Get a Job, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
April 26, 2025: Community Service, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
April 26, 2025: Graduation Luncheon, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
